CME on diabetes, scheduled from 9 to 11 August 2010 has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. Next date will be announced shortly by the BIDE-WDF Project team.

Public awareness program & diabetes Screening Camp

A Public awareness program & diabetes screening camp will be held at Samia General Hospital, Gulshan-e-Hadeed on August 11, 2010 with the collaboration of BIDE-IDF center of Education and Rotary Club.

Workshop on Insulin and Ramadan management

With the group effort of PharmEvo and National Association of Diabetes Educators of Pakistan (NADEP) an insulin workshop held at Lasania Restaurant on August 7, 2010 Dr. Ahmed Salman & Mrs.Rabia Abdul Rehman had highlighted diet, exercise, and oral medication and Insulin dose adjustment during Ramadan.

First satellite session of Conversations map tool

First peripheral satellite session of conversations map tool was conducted by Ms.Erum Ghafoor (IDF Expert trainer of Conversations map tool) at Al-khidmat hospital new Karachi on August 20, 2010. She had explained what diabetes is and how it works with help of first conversation map “how diabetes works”.

Second satellite session of Conversations map tool

Ms. Erum Ghafoor (IDF Expert trainer of Conversations map tool) has conducted second peripheral satellite session of conversations map tool at Al-khidmat hospital new Karachi on August 30, 2010 with 14 patients. She had explained what is healthy eating and how exercise in beneficial for diabetic patient, through second conversation map “Healthy eating and Exercise”.

Third satellite session of Conversations map tool

Ms. Erum Ghafoor has accomplished third peripheral satellite session of conversations map tool at shaheed Bhutto free dispensary with the collaboration of Red Crescent at manzoor colony on August 31, 2010 with more then 20 patients. She has enlightened the people with diabetes and their relatives, what diabetes is and how it works in human body and how it can be managed.

First online diploma in Diabetology will be started in January 2011. Initially the students from all over Pakistan will be offered admission in online Diploma Course except from Karachi and Hyderabad.

First PEDOGRAPH of Pakistan is installed at BIDE

Baqai Institute of Diabetology & Endocrinology has again been privileged of being First institution with the installation of Pedograph. Pedograph is mainly used in prevention of complications of Diabetic Foot. High pressure areas on each foot are identified and offloaded to avoid ulcer formation.
