The Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetology is a TWO year Postgraduate Course in the field of diabetes. The course consists of four semesters, as follows:

Each semester will be of five months duration, comprises of two Theory Sessions and two practical training sessions, each one of three credit hours. So, the total credit hours in each semester will be twelve. Each semester will be followed by a period for preparation & examination. The terminal exam comprises of theory examination, viva & OSCE.

The daily schedule will be from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm five days a week.

There will be 5 lectures & 5 workshops per week.

It entails one theory and one practical course, each of one credit hour. After one month of didactic session the process of assignments and approval of research project will be completed. The relevant field work will start during this semester. The Terminal exam comprises of viva & OSCE.

Research work on thesis will be completed and assessment will be done through VIVA.

1. In first two sessions the students are expected to submit 10 case histories on completion of prescribed number of modules. The feedback from the consultant will be provided during an interactive session.

2. Theory paper 1 of first two semesters comprises of 100 MCQs of single best answer with four options.

3. Theory paper 2 of first two semesters comprise of 5 SEQs. All are mandatory to attempt.

4. There will be no supplementary examination during the course.

5. A student who has passed 80% of the courses in one semester is eligible to be promoted to the next semester.

6. The student who has failed to pass 80% courses will be reverting back i.e. repeat the same semester.

7. In the last semester if the student has passed 80% of the courses he/she will be considered for “Outgoing Exam” to complete the Diploma.
